Play Games For Money - Part 1

I need to first ask you something. "Do you just like playing games or ARE YOU COMMITTED TO PLAYING GAMES?" These are two different things. You may want to play CS for, let's say 1 to 2 hours per day, but are you dedicated to becoming a "Zen Master" ? Are you even passionate on participating on game contests, joining team clans, playing online clan wars?
Let's get some things clear straight away about playing games for money:

1. You must be committed. Sorry folks for ruining your reality, but you really must be dedicated to playing games in order to make money from it.

2. You must choose a game. You've probably already did that. You've chosen a game you're passionate about. What now? I'll go with this little example

I'm passionate about playing FIFA 07. I've been playing it for months now and I want to make money from it. The first thing is...

a) Play it online.
Ninety percent of the games you can earn money from are playable in multiplayer mode (online and LAN). Think about it. World of Warcraft, FIFA, Pro Evolution Soccer, Need For Speed, Counter Strike... And the best way to get experienced in particular game is to play it with humans, not with bots. Almost all EA Sports games have a build-in online system which allows you to participate in tournaments and leagues. But in order to make money playing these games, this won't help you at all. We have to consider the second step which is:

b) Join a gaming clan
The best way to get started with this is to Google!
For my example, when I type "FIFA gaming clan" here's what I got:


Not bad for a starting point, huh? I don't recommend you go just with this kind of research . I'll leave to your imagination. You can search for clans by many different keywords, and on many different websites you may already know.


If you participate in 1 vs 1 games, gaming clan wouldn't be a bad idea. I can't stress out enough how powerful it is to be in a community where all team members have one goal and similar interests.
You share tips, tricks, you play games together, you organize tournaments and you participate in them...the sky is the limit.

c) Once you've found a team, you have a guarantee that your gaming skills are going to rise to another level. You and your team will probably participate in many tournaments in which money is won, and much, much more prizes.

BUT, I must remind you about some things:

1. If you want to play games for money, you must be sure that you're passionate about playing games and not passionate about getting the money. If you are dedicated to becoming a master in particular game, the money will usually come by itself.

2. Clans do not always allow "newbie's" to join". So be prepared and have decent skill set before going into gaming clan.

3. ENJOY AND HAVE FUN! That's what this entire thing is all about, right?
